If you’re tired of losing money at Blackjack — or simply don’t want to troll the Vegas strip midday — consider this un-Vegas-like activity: zip lining. Yep, it turns out there’s some great, soaring adventure to be had in the desert city, so make plans now to split your day between casinos and carabineers. Here are five zip line opportunities to get you started:

1: SlotZilla Zip Line

Arguably one of the city’s best zip line experiences, SlotZilla offers daredevils two soaring options: a three-block zip starting at seven stories up and extending over Fremont Street, and another that releases zippers “Superman style” from 11 stories high and propels them five blocks underneath the famous domed video screen downtown. You can even collect a photo of the experience when you’re done. Tickets are $29 for the shorter zip line trek and $49 for the “Superman” line. (Pro tip: If you go before 5pm, you can get $5 off your ticket.)

2: Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon

For a complete escape from the city, grab a ticket at Flightlinez, just 30 minutes outside of Vegas. There are three zip tours you can take: one during the day, one at sunset, and one by moonlight. These experiences are much longer (running three hours each) and extend over multiple miles. If you’re keen on seeing the desert landscape, opt for the daytime zip tour, which will give you views of “big sky Nevada” and the diverse wildlife in the state, including sheep, hawks, and chuckwallas. The sunset tour starts with a short hike to the top of the mountain from which you’ll launch, then vaults you high above the desert to witness golden hues and the twinkle of downtown lights as the sun fades over the dessert. For cooler zipping, opt for the moonlight tour, which reveals a whole different side of Nevada — one both serene and austere. Prices range from $99 to $179.

3: Rio Zip Line

If you don’t want to leave the strip, never fear; there’s a zip line available to accommodate your adventure-seeking. Hoisted 500 feet in the air and running up to 33 miles per hour, the Rio Zip Line claims to be the fastest in Vegas (though they’ve got competition; see FLY LINQ below). It also gives you epic views of the downtown skyline. Like the SlotZilla Zip Line, this one is short-lived. Given the quick ride, tickets are an affordable $27.50 per person. Oh, and did we mention it’s a tandem zip line? Be sure to bring that beau (or belle) to make the experience frighteningly romantic.

4: FLY LINQ Zipline

Another strip wonder, the FLY LINQ Zipline starts atop the LINQ Hotel and allows for three positions: seated, “Superman style,” or (gulp) backwards. Also, you can fly with up to 10 people and all of you will zip at up to 35 mph. Soar towards the strip’s giant Ferris wheel, ogle the crowds shuffling on the sidewalks below, and watch your life flash before your eyes as your hair blows back in your face. Rides sail through 1am, so you can easily nab a zipline adventure to wake you up between craps games. Tickets start at $25.
